Landscape Designers

Brian has 28 years of experience at Native Nurseries. His artistic talent combined with his understanding of natural history and wildlife make for unique, inspired designs. He also designs and installs water features. Seth has 12 years of experience at Native Nurseries and has been mentoring under co-founder/designer Jody Walthall for the last year.

Ben wiggins

Ben started working at Native as a landscaper in the fall of 2019. With over 10 years of experience in the field, Ben quickly became landscape designer. When he is not working at the nursery, he is on the waters investing in his oyster aquaculture business, Halcyon Sea Farm. His farm raised oysters are incredibly fresh & delicious (and for sale too)!

 

geoff perkins

Geoff started working for Native Nurseries in August 2020. He has a degree in Geology from FSU and is a musician in his spare time. Because of both these interests, you could consider him a rocker. When not working landscape, you can find him working retail.

 

Ben gunther

Benji (or Ben G.) hails from Salem, Oregon and grew up interested in all things nature. Upon graduation from high school, he pursued apiculture. This passion led him to a beekeeping position at a large apiary and honey farm in Blountstown, Florida. He later moved up here to Tallahassee where he worked as a landscape foreman at a local garden center. His love of pollinators and the importance of native plants to pollinators’ survival aligned when he applied to the landscape crew. Our resident creepy-crawly catcher, Benji handles bugs on and off the job. After hours, he loves to fish, hunt, keep bees, and relaxes with his wife, 2 cats, & dog after hours.

 

Jace cookson

Before joining us in 2023, Jace studied History at FSU and worked for a local goat farm on the side. He then moved to a position at the Florida State Archives, but found himself missing the outdoors and left to become a part of our landscaping crew. In his free time, Jace enjoys reading, playing piano, making art and going to trivia nights with his friends.

 

Kenny Poole

Kenny moved to Tallahassee in 2020 from Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. He joined our landscaping team in the fall of 2023 and has been a valuable member in his time here. He’s always been passionate about nature and outdoor recreation, this being what drew him to Native Nurseries.
