Water will attract birds, such as summer tanagers and warblers, who seldom visit bird feeders, in addition to the more commonly seen birds.
Use a shallow bird bath or bird bath bowl placed on the ground or on a stump or rocks. Also a shallow pool with water dripping on a rock or with a mister spraying on a rock is attractive to most birds.
Change the water in your bird bath often to avoid mosquito infestations.
Pour hot water over the ice in your bird bath on winter mornings to provide water for the birds visiting your yard.
